The awesome people at Telstra Country Wide set us up with wireless broadband – which was fantastic! It was quite a site to watch Dave Hall and Ben Balbo up till the wee small hours of the night before StixCamp wiring up the antenna and pointing it at a hill about 5km away. The throughput of this was remakable – getting faster broadband speeds wirelessly than some of us get through our wired connections. Thanks guys!
The Mount Alexander Shire council funded lunch at StixCampNewstead – one of the best meals we’ve ever had! Mount Alexander Shire are heavily committed to making Maldon, Newstead, Castlemaine and the surrounding area a technically innovative area, and strongly encourage technology professionals to relocate to the area – a cornerstone of the Shire’s economic development principles.
Linux Australia is a not for profit organisation dedicated to promoting the use of Linux and other free and open source software tools (FOSS) throughout the community. This group facilitates the annual Linux Conference Australia.
SitePoint Solutions are a Melbourne based web solutions provider, who specialise in standards compliant and best practice web application development. We love them for their adherence to standards. They have a wonderful publishing arm – who donated amazing books and other goodies for StixCampNewstead!
The BarCamp t-shirts are done by Productology, a Melbourne based promotional products firm.The t-shirts we’ve had have been top notch, and come in a variety of colours, styles, and sizes.
